Guardians of Our Troubled Waters
Our rivers and streams were the lifeblood of our community, but in the industrial age, they became a sewer system for all manner of toxic effluence. However, the early river heroes, the Wilma Dykemans, the Marjory Stoneman Douglas, the Upper French Broad Defense Association and the Dead Pigeon River Council said NO to the destruction, inspiring river stewardship that still echoes today in those who have picked up the torch and run with it. We owe so much to our river heroes, yesterday and today. But the job is far from over. For more information on the full film, our work and to buy the DVD, visit SaveCulture.org

Guardians of Our Troubled Waters
Guardians tells the story of the close connection native people had with their rivers and streams, how things changed in the Industrial Era, the early heroes who stood up for our waterways and the heroes today who continue the struggle to be the stewards nature is demanding us to be.
